Finance options for business
The right structure depends on how you use the vehicle and how your business is set up. We compare the options and explain the trade-offs.
Chattel mortgage
Own the vehicle from day one while you repay the loan, with the vehicle as security.
Hire purchase
Make regular payments and take ownership once the final payment is made.
Leasing
Use the vehicle for an agreed term and return, refinance or upgrade at the end.
Fleet finance
Finance several vehicles under one arrangement as your business grows.
Novated leases
A salary packaging option that lets employees lease a car through their employer.
Potential tax benefits
Depending on the structure, you may be able to claim GST, interest and depreciation. Check with your accountant.

Common questions
What business owners usually ask before financing a vehicle.
What is the difference between a chattel mortgage and a lease?
With a chattel mortgage you own the vehicle from the start and the lender holds it as security. With a lease, the lender owns the vehicle and you pay to use it for an agreed term.
Do I need an ABN?
Yes. Commercial vehicle finance is for business use, so lenders generally need an active ABN. Some also look at how long it has been registered.
Can I finance more than one vehicle?
Yes. Fleet finance lets you fund several vehicles, and we can help you structure it to suit your cash flow.
What documents will I need?
Usually your ABN, recent financial statements or tax returns, bank statements and a quote or invoice for the vehicle. Requirements vary by lender.
